Benefits of membership
Be part of your community
Bureau members share information and ideas with people in their own communities by taking part in:
- Local projects with a rural or agricultural focus
- Field days
- Sticky-beak days
- Local trials
- Bus tours
- Meetings and workshops
Be part of an active statewide farmer network
The Agricultural Bureau is an extensive network, servicing the needs of farmers across the state. There are about 100 Bureau branches and nearly 2000 members with interests similar to yours.
We conduct statewide projects that aim to better inform and educate our members and the wider farming community.
Influence government policy
Through its governing body, the Advisory Board of Agriculture, the Agricultural Bureau has a direct link to the South Australian Minister for Agriculture, Food and Fisheries. The Advisory Board meets with the Minister regularly to provide advice on policy issues.
The ABA also has strong links with the University of Adelaide, Primary Industries and Resources South Australia (PIRSA) (including SARDI), Department of Water, Land and Biodiversity Conservation (DWLBC), with representatives from each body on the board.
